From time to time I run google searches and comb through websites. I have seen nothing whatsoever in the way of a lead to obtain seeds or seedling.

In other words, add me to the list of someone who would love to have it also.

I've checked that site in the past, but they were not in stock - at least I believe they weren't.

Doing a search of their inventory by species name did not locate this item, but a search by genus did show that available item.

Rareplants are a good site ive got some D. ombet seeds coming from them, along side some more puya raimondii seeds (also check out their selection of sonchus!)

I ordered a few. I’m sure there’s not much experience with germinating Ombet, but I’ve heard Cinnabari has a very low germination rate. Does anyone have experience on the best methods for germinating dracaena in general?

and actually just finally planted the seeds today.

Ill get photos when they are bigger. All i did was put them in a tray with the mix ive been using (john innes no2, perlite and sand, 3:2:2) and lightly watered them with a spray bottle every day. Took about a month to sprout

5 of the 9 Ombet seeds I purchased have germinated so far. Hopefully they will survive.

I can't believe I have just let mine sit in their package until now. Guess I have been pretty busy. Anyway, how deep did you sow them? I'm assuming there was no pre-soak, no scarification. Did you use a seedling heat mat? Thanks!

I just did what he said. Placed the seed at the surface or right below damp medium. The container is right next to an oil filled radiant heater in my garage. The temperature in my house fluctuates too much right now. Within days they started germinating.

Thanks, I did my draco seeds circa 5 years as recommended from the seed source, which was to pre-soak a couple of days in warm water, and then place on top of medium kept moist. I was just curious
if there was any substantial difference. I'm currently soaking mine for a planned 24 hours, with 1/10 volume of the water augmented with H2O2 in order to avoid any possible fungal issue.
Tomorrow I'm going to sit them on my medium and just press them in a little. As I recall, exposure to light was recommended... something said that light was required for germination (just not direct sun of course).
I'm going to place the pot I'm using on a seedling heat mat and make sure to keep the surface a little moist. Since our seed source for all three of us identical, I expect I should also get decent germination. I'd be
happy with 50%. Anything more is bonus.

I was originally just hoping for 1 final healthy plant. Based on this success I may go back and order more. Grow a few extra plants for myself and eventually eBay.

This is a crappy photo, but it does show what I want regardless. This AM, I looked into the glass and saw radicles showing on each seed. I scooped them out with a spoon and placed them in my pot and
just barely covered with finely ground (between my fingers) seedling mix on top of the regular premium cactus mix in a 12 oz pot. That was several hours short of the 24 hours soak as previously described
that I had intended. I'm amazed! All four seeds are apparently good, now it's up to me to keep them from dying along the way. Feeling pretty good about it already.

These seeds are quite tiny compared to both draco and cinnabari seeds previously tried, and I guess the seed coat is a lot softer/thinner too. I spaced them out and turned the seed with radicle pointing downward
before lightly and only partially covered them.

They look similar to the Dracaena Serrulata seeds I purchased from another source, which was relief. Unless I was scammed twice .But It will probably be years before I know.

All 9 have germinated and growth is astounding from my experience with Dracaena. Maybe just initial growth is quick.

Moving along. They slowed down with the removal of the Saran Wrap a few days ago, but are greening up. That website is now out of seeds, I had gone back for more.
