Parodia w/ baby/pup on top
im a new member from Coastral North Carolina, & have had a passion for C &S's for many of my 77 years, lately I've had time to dedicate to this hobby. I've got a Parodia (werder manniana), i believe, & am wondering why she has gotten a 'baby on her top, all the pics i see have babies, or pups @ their base.
Thanks for any helpMy Parodia

Welcome. It looks like it's on its side, rather than on top.

Sometimes buds turn into pups for some reasons.
Or happened dead growthpoint's substitution.
You can try to cut and root the pup, it's very easy and you'll have 2 same nice plants.
If old plant will give another one pup on its top we'll be sure that primary growthpoint is lost.
