I've always liked the spiral growth of them and related. I had a chance to buy a small one a couple of years ago at the Cactus Jungle in Berkeley. Are they out door-all- year- plants? Do they need frost free and or dry winters?
I'm not seeing anybody post there's online. I did know one person who had them..but he also had a greenhouse. I never did clarify if his plants were out or in.

Mine live outdoors all year....my climate could hardly be more different than yours, however. They love warm sunny winters and sleep all summer. Easy for me as long as I remember to water them (a lot) in winter. It would be worth a try, and I can definitely send you a clump of A. circinata if you'd like. I have them growing and dividing rampantly in the ground here...
