Beautiful, solitary, pinnate, monoecious, crownshafted palm from Fiji that grows up between 35'-50' tall. Its striking appearance is created by the ornamentally drooping, wide, deep green leaflets and jet purple-black crownshaft that fades rapidly to a light lime green as it turns into the tree's petioles. Trunks are fairly stout, whitish and prominently ringed. This is a very tropical palm in its needs and cannot be grown in a Mediterranean climate.
