Its called the Rock Orchid as its a lithotype..grows on rocks in open forests. Well,its developed plenty of cold tolerance for California winters,and takes more sun than I thought when I got this plant in 2006. I highly recomend this Orchid as I cant remember it ever suffering because I forgot to water. In fact it makes bulbils all the time that fall off. We just stick them around other plants.

Pretty. It reminds me slightly of Bletia purpurea which is also easy as pie.
