This is a permanent problem in my collection with our damp weather and it caught me out early this year (even though it was decent summer) and I've lost quite a few plants.

However, one of the top growers suggest that weekly sprayings with methylated spirits can help. Not sure about the smell but I'll give it a go.

What methylated spirit would you suggest? thanks alot

I only know of it as methylated spirit or meths. Good as a spot killer of mealy bug too.

It is what is also known as denatured alcohol. It is essentially alcohol that has been made unfit for consumption.

We just used that to clean up a lot of our large leaved house plants after we had a spider mite infestation. Gotta be so careful introducing new plants... caught it pretty early only the vector plant is a goner, but man that was a lot of work of spraying and then cleaning individual leaves with denatured alcohol.
