"American aloe plant," 1797, from Greek Agaue, proper name in mythology (mother of Pentheus), from agauos "noble," perhaps from agasthai "wonder at".

Put this little guy in he ground October 16th 2025. Lost all its leaves and just sat dormant. Wasn't sure if it was even still alive. It woke up a month or two ago. Putting on some nice growth now. Full Tempe sun all day long.
