Hello everyone I’m hoping to get a little help on this thread. I’m pretty new to desert gardening, learning as I go.
My Attenuata x Ocahui. (Blue Glow) are looking rough. They’ve been in the ground about three years and performed like champs. They’re in full sun, and we regularly get triple digit heat. This week however they started turning yellow from base to tip, and some of the leaves are wrinkled.
I see a little yellowing at the base of my Colorado, and a large prickly pear. Nothing else has any wrinkling.
I’m at a loss. I just increased watering to once a week which I normally do in triple digit heat. Did I overdo it? I’m confused as to why it’s both turning yellow and wrinkly.

Re: Sun Damage
Definitely sun damage, I would recommend just laying 50% shade cloth over them for the summer.

Re: Sun Damage
Hello,
In a desert climate, it's easy to overwater, especially with these extreme temperatures. Your Attenuata x Ocahui are hardy plants, but they don't like having their feet in water. Reduce watering to once every two weeks and make sure the soil has time to dry out between waterings. Also, check the drainage of your soil, as this could be part of the problem.
