Hi folks, I'm usually more of a lurker but I'm hoping you can help me figure out the problem with my spiral aloe babies. I bought seeds from Alan Beverly and germinated them last spring with decent success rates. The growth rate has been extremely variable since then, so I've been experimenting with uppotting and sun exposure to see if I can figure out what they want.
This morning, I noticed some leaf damage on a few of the babies that spent a month or two in a very shady part of my garden. I've gotten snail/slug damage on some of them before, but this is clearly different. I recently lost a stunning variegated aloe arborescens to some sort of infection or disease, so now I'm paranoid about resolving issues early. The damaged polyphylla leaves are all on the bottom and show a mix of dark brown cankers and light brown depressions. Any idea what the issue might be and how I should treat it?

Hi, I would place them in a sunnier spot, in the shade any water on the leaves just sits there too long and can cause fungal issues.

What Arjan said. These ones look etiolated and water sitting on the leaves is never a good thing for these guys. Pots are also too small.
